More and more city centers are losing trade in competition with online shopping, but in Ängelholm business is doing better than many other city centers.

- Ängelholmarna are local patriots and care about their center, says Maria Hansson.

Hear Maria Hansson tell more about what she thinks is the key to good business in the clip above.

The pandemic helped rather than overthrew

For Marie Hansson, the customer flow stopped at the beginning of the pandemic, but during the summer she experienced a clear tourist effect.

As more and more people chose to "homestead", she broke records in the number of visitors.

- We noticed a marked increase that came as a bit of a shock to us.

We were not really prepared for the increase that came, she says.

The property owner supported in tough times

When the pandemic was at its worst for trade in Ängelholm's city center, the property owner chose to lower the rent to support his tenants.

- I received help with the rent for three months and basically only paid the fixed costs for the operation of the premises.

It has done a lot, says Maria Hansson.

Expands the business

Because last year's business went so well, Maria Hansson will knock out a wall to an adjacent room and double the store.

- I am going well against the current and intend to expand later this spring.

I have nevertheless been so pleased with the pandemic year, she says.
