The Covid-19 postpones the trial of the November 13 attacks for a week.
A new case has been detected among the defendants and, therefore, the trial will not resume until February 22, according to information obtained this Monday from sources familiar with the case.
The hearing will briefly resume on Tuesday before the special assize court in Paris, without the detained defendants who will not be released from prison, in order to formally postpone the trial to the following Tuesday, these sources said.
The trial has already been interrupted several times due to Covid contamination, in particular of the main accused Salah Abdeslam in early January.
End of trial expected before summer
This time, it was Belgian-Moroccan Mohamed Amri who tested positive, President Jean-Louis Périès announced in a message to the parties on Sunday.
The trial of the attacks that caused 130 in Paris and Saint-Denis on November 13, 2015 opened on September 8 and should be completed before the summer.
After a first phase of interrogation of the accused, for nearly a month, the hearing was to resume on Tuesday with new hearings of investigators.
