The Court of Instruction number 42 of Madrid agrees to interrogate in Mexico two key witnesses of the

Neurona case

in which the alleged irregular financing of Podemos is investigated.

Instructor

Juan José Escalonilla

has just issued a rogatory commission to Mexico to take statements from citizens

Germán Cobos

and

Waldemar Aguado

.

The first was the person commissioned by the Chavista consultancy to order the diversion of electoral funds from Podemos to a

cover

located in a neighborhood in the Mexican town of Guadalajara.

Not in vain, it was Cobos who was accredited in the investigation as the person who instructed the manager of the Neurona subsidiary in Spain,

Elías Castejón

, to transfer the bulk of the money paid by the formation led by Pablo Iglesias for alleged election jobs.

He indicated that the funds should end up in an instrumental company called

Creative Advice Interactive

, without employees or any infrastructure and located in a private address in Jalisco.

In total, some 300,000 euros were diverted to Mexico through false invoices issued by the Mexican holding company, which simulated communication services or management of social networks.

Previously, Podemos paid Neurona 363,000 euros plus VAT to carry out work for the 2019 elections.

signs of crime

The judge maintains that there are indications that services were not provided for that amount and, in this sense, warns of an alleged crime in the operation, which was denounced by the former Podemos lawyer, José Manuel Calvente.

Cobos' citation seems very relevant to determine the final destination of the funds diverted by Neurona out of Spain and that had a public origin.

Likewise, Judge Escalonilla will question another Mexican citizen, Waldemar Aguado, who allegedly carried out electoral work within the framework of the contract signed between the consultant and Podemos.

Specifically, 48 designs for electoral products that constitute one of the few traces of the supposed work carried out by Neurona for Podemos.

The judge in the

Neurona case

has agreed to both testimonials after previously receiving the endorsement of the Provincial Court of Madrid.
