China News Service, February 14. On February 14, the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) issued a ruling against the Russian Olympic Committee team figure skater Valieva, rejecting the International Olympic Committee and World Anti-Doping. The agency and the International Skating Federation have questioned Russia's anti-doping agency, allowing Valieva to continue to participate in the Beijing Winter Olympics.

On February 6, Russian Olympic team figure skater Valieva competes.

Valieva was temporarily suspended by the Russian Anti-Doping Agency due to a positive drug test on a sample provided on December 25, 2021.

On February 9, 2022, Valieva challenged the temporary suspension and a hearing was held on the same day.

Subsequently, the Russian Anti-Doping Agency decided to lift her temporary ban and allow her to continue participating in the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The decision was challenged by the International Olympic Committee, the World Anti-Doping Agency and the International Skating Union to the International Court of Arbitration for Sport.

After deliberation, the International Court of Arbitration for Sport decided to reject the challenge applications of the above-mentioned three institutions, arguing that although there was a problem of failing to notify Valieva of the doping test results in a timely manner, Valieva herself was not at fault.

The tribunal also held that Valieva would be irreparably harmed if she were now barred from continuing her participation in the Winter Olympics.

The statement finally clearly stated: It is appropriate to allow (the decision to lift the temporary suspension).
