The Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker, wife of Prince Charles, has tested
positive for covid-19
for the first time, a spokesperson for
Clarence House,
her official London residence, announced on Monday.
The Duchess, 74, contracted the coronavirus just
days after her husband,
the heir to the British throne, contracted it for the second time.
"Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cornwall, has tested positive for covid-19 and
has isolated herself.
We continue with the Government's guidelines," the official source said in a statement.
Camilla, who has
already received the complete vaccination schedule,
as well as the booster dose, according to official sources, carried out several
work commitments
last Thursday, the same day that her husband tested positive for the virus.
That same day, the duchess had indicated that "fortunately" she had tested negative.
The positives of Prince Charles and his wife have raised
concern about the health status of Queen Elizabeth II
, 95, with whom they were in direct contact just two days before their firstborn tested positive.
A spokesman for Buckingham Palace - the monarch's official residence in London - said last Thursday that she had not shown
