This year, the festival will have two extra days - and two parades will also be held.
- It will be very exciting to do the parade in Sölvesborg.
The purpose that we planned in Sölvesborg was the big flag debate, but we need to constantly raise these issues and talk about the rights of LGBTQ people, says the moderate pride chairman Sophia Ahlin.
Investing in a new boat parade
During the pandemic, the association Karlskrona Pride has only carried out the Pride celebration on a smaller scale and with digital events.
The idea last year was also to hold a boat parade, but the festival then came to a negative end with accusations of sexual harassment and police intervention.
- There was a lot of speculation, which of course is very sad.
We do not hope that this gave us a negative image.
The boat parade that was planned for last year, the association intends to resume this year - then in combination with the regular parade in Karlskrona, which this year starts at Kungsbron and ends at Fisktorget.
