The concept of the foreign policy of the Russian Federation will be finalized taking into account the current situation in the world.

This was reported to RIA Novosti by the press secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.

“Our foreign policy documents, of course, are undergoing changes.

You know that just a week earlier, at the operational meeting of the permanent members of the Security Council, the main outlines of our new foreign policy concept were considered.

And it will improve.

But just considering what is happening now.

In this regard, the situation is not static, it is developing dialectically on our part," Peskov said.

On January 28, Vladimir Putin, during an operational meeting of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, announced that the Foreign Ministry had prepared a draft updated version of the concept of Russia's foreign policy.

In particular, it reflects the significant changes that have taken place in international politics over the past five years.

Peskov also noted that Moscow has not received "direct answers" from the United States and NATO to proposals for security guarantees.

At the same time, an attempt by the West to “concentrate on minor details” and “avoid any understanding” of problems that are critical for the Russian side is recorded.

According to him, Moscow will not allow the West to move the dialogue on this topic for years to come.

“This is a regime (of many years of negotiations. -

), which will be conducted in parallel with the concrete actions of the NATO countries and the United States to arm Ukraine, to draw Ukraine into NATO's military infrastructure and to gradually absorb Ukraine from NATO.

Therefore, this cannot be in our interests,” the Kremlin spokesman explained.

In this regard, the Russian authorities are obliged to respond to the threat and take measures to minimize the risks: “I also have no doubt that President Putin will do what he must in the current situation.”

Speaking about relations between Moscow and Washington, Peskov stressed that they are "at a very, very low point, actually lying on the floor": "Unfortunately, in bilateral relations, one can only speak of a minus."

At the same time, according to him, with the coming to power in the United States of Joe Biden, a number of positive changes occurred.

“Probably, it is possible to write down in a positive way that no matter how hard it is in other areas, there are still certain channels for dialogue.

The heads of states are in dialogue, dialogues are underway in other areas.

This is a plus.

This is a plus, because you know, just a couple of years ago, we had zero dialogue, as such there were no contacts, ”added Peskov.

He also drew attention to the “cowboy approach” of the States, which are persistently trying to influence Europe in matters of foreign policy and security: “But let's hope that common sense will prevail here, and that Europeans will first of all think about our common home , about Europe, where we live side by side and are direct neighbors”.

In turn, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, pointed out that the aggressive rhetoric of the United States and Great Britain around the situation in Ukraine is “war propaganda”, which is prohibited by the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1966.

“Aggressive rhetoric covers the supply of weapons to Ukraine, the sending of military instructors there, the holding of NATO military exercises near the Russian borders and the creation of an offensive combined-arms infrastructure of Western states,” she wrote in her Telegram channel.

The day before, a telephone conversation took place between Joe Biden and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

Kiev expressed the hope that the American leader will make a visit to the Ukrainian capital, which will contribute to the de-escalation.

According to CNN, Zelensky did not receive a positive response to his proposal - such a trip is extremely unlikely.

At the same time, it is indicated that the President of Ukraine also asked the United States to provide his country with additional financial and military support.

In addition, U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan once again issued a statement that the supposedly possible “invasion” of Russia could begin at any moment: “I really believe that the world should be prepared for Russia to create an excuse , and then, perhaps, start hostilities.

Accusations against Moscow were also expressed in Kiev.

On February 14, the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine announced a certain “powerful wave of hybrid war” in social networks, the media and through the dissemination of “aggressor country” narratives by a number of Ukrainian politicians.

“Ukraine is faced with attempts to systemically whip up panic, the spread of fake information and the distortion of the real state of things,” the report says.

Against this background, the authorities of a number of other countries (Albania, Serbia, Japan, Singapore, Lithuania, Croatia, Italy) recommended or called on their citizens to leave Ukraine.
