Tunisian President Kaïs Saïed published a decree on Saturday (February 12th) establishing a provisional Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSM), effectively replacing the President of the Council, the Tunisian presidency announced on its Facebook page.
Kais Saied decreed last week the dissolution of this independent body responsible for appointing judges, accusing it of corruption and bias.

In July, Tunisia's president suspended parliament and sacked the prime minister, saying he would rule by decree while preparing a new constitution that he says will be put to a referendum this summer.
