“In the Gomel area, the units of the special operations forces of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus, together with units of the Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, are searching, blocking and destroying sabotage and reconnaissance groups of a mock enemy and illegal armed formations,” the Belarusian Defense Ministry reports in Telegram .
At the Brestsky training ground, the military is practicing guarding objects, columns of rear units, as well as opening the caches of illegal armed groups.
Earlier it became known about the start of the joint exercises of the states "Allied Resolve".
During the exercises, maneuvers will be carried out to work out the tasks "to suppress and repel external aggression during the conduct of a defensive operation, as well as countering terrorism and protecting the interests of the Union State."
Allied Resolve 2022 exercises will be held from 10 to 20 February.
