Auger-Aliassime, 21, 9th at ATP, eliminated Russian Andrey Rublev 6-7 (5/7), 6-4, 6-2 in the semi-final of this ATP 500.

This will be the eighth duel between the two players, the Greek leading 5-2. He will be aiming for an eighth title on the circuit, the first indoors for two years.

Tsitsipas played his last four finals on clay last spring, in Monte Carlo and Lyon where he won both times, in Barcelona and at Roland-Garros.

He kicked off his Australian Open year well by reaching the semi-finals.

Auger-Aliassime hopes to finally win his first trophy after eight failures in the final, following a fine run in Melbourne where he pushed Daniil Medvedev to the fifth set in the quarter-finals.
