The RN candidate for the presidential election came to Toulon to present her program concerning National Defense.

The aspiring President of the Republic criticized Emmanuel Macron's defense record and proposed a series of measures.

Marine Le Pen was at the Toulon naval base on Friday to present its defense program.

The opportunity for the National Rally candidate to work on her sovereign posture and to place herself as the first opponent of Emmanuel Macron.

The press conference took place on board a small boat sailing a few hundred meters from the French Navy ships stationed in the harbor of Toulon.

Marine le Pen presented the defense component of her program.

The RN candidate particularly targeted Emmanuel Macron.

"The Macron five-year term has added moral bankruptcy to his management of defence. Two examples to remember are the humiliating public remarks made against the Chief of the Defense Staff which led to his resignation or even members of the government preferring to celebrate in Vietnam, Algeria, Kosovo or Rwanda, the enemies of France.

A series of defense measures

The candidate proposes a long series of measures: the exit from NATO's integrated command, the modernization of the nuclear deterrent force, the negotiation of an agreement with Russia, or even an increase in the defense budget... "The "defense effort must be significant but be sustainable. I have set it at 55 billion per year in 2027", she adds to the microphone of Europe 1. This moment allows Marine Le Pen to show her ability to embody the role of the head of the armed forces and to insist on the credibility of his programme.

Her main asset, according to those close to her, lies in the race she delivers with Valérie Pécresse and Eric Zemmour for access to the second round of the presidential election.

And with less than 100 days to go, she remains in the lead in the polls ahead of the two right-wing candidates.
