“We ordered that most of the embassy employees who are still in Ukraine immediately leave the country ... We do not close the embassy and do not suspend its work,” TASS quoted him as saying.
The official stressed that the US Embassy in Kiev is suspending most consular services, while the US "will provide a limited amount of emergency consular services from Lviv."
Earlier, the US embassy in Kiev said that the US State Department called on US diplomats who do not hold critical positions to leave Ukraine.
