No, the city of Paris has not been hit by a wave of fatal road accidents in recent days.

However, this is what all the black silhouettes that appeared this Friday morning on the sidewalks of the capital might suggest.

Similar to the signs usually posted on the sides of the road to announce that a tragedy has taken place at this location, they display messages such as "Stabbed to death by a man on parole" or "My attacker has been sentenced to 10 years from prison, he was released after 5 years”.

Reported by the independent journalist Coline Clavaud-Mégevand on Twitter, they were seen in different places in the capital according to the testimonies visible on social networks: near the metro stations Jules-Joffrin (18th), Guy-Môquet (18th), Odéon (6th), in the 15th arrondissement and in Montreuil.

In the North of Paris (and probably elsewhere) these silhouettes flourish.

Behind, we imagine an association fighting against violence against women and #feminicides.

In reality, it is the "apolitical think tank" Institute for Justice.

The panels, which have QR codes, refer to the stopaulaxisme.fr site, which campaigns for the end of remissions of sentences.

This site is signed by the Institut pour la justice, an association under the 1901 law which describes itself as a think tank “composed of citizens, victims and experts from the legal world mobilized for a Justice that puts the victims at the centre”.

The authors soon verbalized by the town hall of Paris

In 2011, the Slate media detailed the association's lobbying activities and its proximity to some right-wing figures such as lawyer Gilles-William Goldnadel or LR deputy Marc Le Fur.

Hello.

It is being removed and of course it will be charged to the offender.

Thank you for your vigilance.

On Twitter, Colombe Brossel, deputy mayor of Paris in charge of the cleanliness of public space reacted by explaining that the panels were being removed and that the costs will be "charged to the offender".

, the town hall of Paris confirms this information: “The teams of the city are mobilized on a daily basis against wild posting, the fight against incivility.

These silhouettes are part of it in the same way as the illegal commercial display.

The organization at the origin will be verbalized.
