- So far this year we have an average time of 40 seconds and that is far too long.

The alarm center in Norrköping is one of 15 in the country.

High staff turnover, sick leave during the pandemic and long response times are concerns here as in the rest of Sweden.

- It is clear that this puts a great strain on the employees, who nevertheless do a fantastic job.

33 percent are not emergency calls

When we spoke with the manager in Norrköping, Christian Larsson, last year, he also described that it was difficult to predict

when

there would be many incoming calls to 112. That problem is more balanced today according to Staffan Ekengren.

However, about a third of all calls are still those that should not be dialed 112 at all.

- We urge everyone to use the emergency number when life, property or health are at stake.

Some of the conversations that should not come to us are about passport applications, health care advice or even someone who wants to be driven home from the pub by ambulance.
