On February 10, in Dolgoprudny near Moscow, the city court began essentially considering a criminal case on the fact of the murder of a resident of Ukraine, 30-year-old Andrei Solovyov.

According to the case file, on December 3, 2021, he celebrated her 30th birthday with his girlfriend Yulia Kupriyanova.

That evening, the man asked her to become his wife.

After consent was obtained, the couple continued to drink alcohol.

However, soon a conflict broke out between Andrei and Yulia, a scuffle ensued, and Kupriyanova stabbed Solovyov several times.

The man died from his injuries.

And Yulia was arrested and placed in a pre-trial detention center.

The investigators classified her actions according to Part 1 of Art.

105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Murder).

As the brother of the deceased, Dmitry Ritikov, told RT, Andrei came to Russia more than three years ago from the small town of Glukhov in the Sumy region (Ukraine).

In September 2020, Kupriyanova moved to him in the Moscow region.

“They had known each other for a long time - they studied together and in the end he invited her to his place.

He made such a fatal mistake.

He was so happy, he always told only good things about the relationship, he was glad that she would cook borscht for him.

When it all happened, they were together for six months, - recalls Ritikov.

- On that day, he took time off from work early, saying that Yulia had a birthday.

That's about 6 pm I saw him for the last time.

Anniversary Murder

According to the man, at night their mutual friend called him and said that Yulia called him and said that “Andrey is not breathing” - she stabbed him with a knife.

Ritikov arrived at the scene an hour and a half after the call and saw his dead brother, who was lying on the floor in his underwear.

According to him, there were many stab wounds on his body.

According to the indictment, the quarrel occurred between 00:00 and 2:38 on December 4, 2021.

Solovyov began to beat Kupriyanov, after which the girl grabbed a knife.

The investigators considered that the intent to kill Kupriyanova arose after “physical pressure” from Solovyov.

“She inflicted at least nine blows on him with an object having a blade of a piercing-cutting weapon in the region of the left thigh, forearm, as well as in the region of vital organs: the head and torso,” the state prosecutor read out the text of the indictment at the trial.

“Thus, it suppressed Solovyov’s will not only to continue the physical impact, but also to any kind of resistance.

And then, despite the additional opportunity to end the conflict situation, she continued inflicting bodily harm both with the above-mentioned object with a blade and with an unidentified hard blunt object, inflicting at least 11 blows to the head, torso, and upper limbs.

In turn, Kupriyanova admitted her guilt during the first trial, but agreed with the prosecution only partially, indicating that she had no intent to commit murder.

The girl also apologized to the brother of the deceased, Dmitry Ritikov.

Not the first time

Ritikov was also interrogated as a victim at the court session.

He said that he had no claims against Kupriyanova, he would not file civil claims for compensation for material damage.

According to him, the girl had previously been convicted in Ukraine for attacking her ex-boyfriend with a knife.

“At the funeral, I spoke with relatives and mutual friends, and they said that she was on trial for a similar situation with a former young man.

Therefore, I am for an objective decision and let the court figure it out, ”Ritikov said at the meeting.

After the court session, the man explained to RT that he did not know any details about that criminal case, he was only told that she "stabbed a knife in his back up to the handle."

According to him, the man survived, and Kupriyanova was sentenced to a suspended sentence.

There is also information in the case that Solovyov became aggressive after drinking alcohol because of the pills he takes after a head injury.

Hritikov RT could not confirm this information.

“When I was with my brother, he never took any medicine.

I knew that even in Ukraine he fell and hit hard.

Also, I can’t say that he became aggressive when we were drinking - I would say that it was even the opposite, ”recalls the man.

However, according to him, after what happened, Andrei's ex-girlfriend contacted him and said that Solovyov, in a state of intoxication, "dissolved his hands" so much that she could not go to work.

She also talked with the defendant's lawyer, Eduard Aliyev, but ultimately refused to testify to the investigation.

In turn, Aliyev believes that his client had no intent to kill.

“We will try to prove self-defence, since there is material in the case against Solovyov under Art.

116 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Beating), because Yulia also had bodily injuries, - the lawyer tells RT.

- Perhaps it will be possible to re-qualify the article for part 4 of Art.

111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, resulting in death by negligence).

Aliyev also, in an interview with RT, said that an examination was carried out by the investigation, which did not show the state of passion on the part of the defendant.

He will apply for a new examination.

“Let's hope that the court will also accept all extenuating circumstances regarding Yulia - she tried to provide first aid to the deceased, called an ambulance.

She also provided for her mother and underage brothers and sisters who remained in Ukraine, the relative of the victim has no claims against her, and she pleaded guilty and cooperates with the investigation, ”concluded Aliyev.

The court extended Kupriyanova's preventive measure in the form of detention for 6 months until July 31, 2022 inclusive.

The next court hearing is scheduled for February 24.

The president of the Collective Defense public organization, lawyer Marat Amanliev, in an interview with RT, explained where the line is between murder and self-defense.

According to him, the location of the wounds, their number matters, and beatings were inflicted with one object or several.

“In order to visually explain what self-defense is and what murder is, it is important to understand exactly where the wounds are.

If on the back, then the person was clearly already running away and did not pose a danger.

That is, the threat of murder has already disappeared.

If the wounds are in the frontal part and sides of the face, then the question is moot - there was an excess or not.

Also, by the number of injuries, one can say whether there was an excess or not, ”explained RT Amanliev.
