For this last day of the One Ocean Summit, the international summit on the ocean, Emmanuel Macron goes to Brest.

The President of the Republic welcomes about fifteen Heads of State physically while another fifteen are by videoconference.

Eight weeks before the presidential election, the question of ecology is on the table.

The Head of State knows that ecology is a theme that absolutely must not be neglected eight weeks before the first round of the presidential election.

Traveling to Brest on Friday for the last day of the One Ocean Summit, Emmanuel Macron is in the presence of around thirty heads of state, some of them by videoconference. 

The environmental crisis, one of the main concerns of the French

The day after the announcement of his nuclear revival plan in the country, a question that divides some environmentalists, the President of the Republic was particularly offensive at the podium to mobilize his counterparts on the issue of protection oceans.

The environmental crisis still ranks among the main concerns of the French.

Emmanuel Macron then tries to pose as a leader in environmental protection. 

2022, a "decisive year"

It is a question of launching during this summit negotiations to lead to a binding international treaty to combat plastic pollution.

But it is also a question of preparing a management framework for the high seas, in order to conclude a treaty for the protection of international waters by the end of the year.

These areas which do not depend on any State.

"The year 2022 will be decisive," insisted Emmanuel Macron.

A decisive year for biodiversity, but also for him.
