“The Kaluga Region is withdrawing from the program to assist voluntary resettlement to the Russian Federation of compatriots living abroad,” Governor Vladislav Shapsha wrote on his Telegram channel.

As reported earlier, the governor made an unscheduled visit to the multifunctional migration center in the Borovsky district and talked with a migrant who does not speak Russian, but has a certificate of knowledge of the language.

Shapsha said that from today all documents from migrants who, in fact, do not know Russian, but provide “fake” certificates, will be sent by the migration center to the internal affairs bodies for verification.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov proposed to provide benefits to compatriots who want to return to their homeland.

According to him, in 2021 the number of regional resettlement programs has already exceeded 80.
