Better protect the tunnel to put an end to accidents there.

After an incalculable number of vehicle collisions at the level of the underpass of boulevard Jean-Jacques Bosc, inaugurated in August 2019, Bordeaux Métropole will begin work on Monday to reinforce signage at the entrance to the hopper.

The intervention consists of laying the anchoring concrete for the new gantries which will make it impossible for oversized vehicles to access the tunnel.

The second stage, at the end of March, will be dedicated to the installation of these gantries.

Alternate traffic closure

From February 14 to 26, a first stage of work will be carried out on the hopper, causing it to be partially closed to traffic.

From February 14 to 18, vehicles will not be able to access the hopper in the incoming direction from Bègles to Bordeaux city center.

From February 21 to 26, traffic will be closed for vehicles going the other way.

During these 15 days of intervention, traffic will be maintained on the surface roads.

This work is part of the progress of the site around the Simone Veil bridge and its connections.
