Sáminuora's chairman Sara-Elvira Kuhmunen, Daniel Holst, the Sami Parliament, cartoonist Mats Jonsson and mining activist Tor L Tuorda hand over the 70,000 signatures and a letter to the Minister of Trade and Industry outside the Government Offices.

Tor L Tuorda from Gruvfritt Jokkmokk is behind the letter, demanding that the Minister of Trade and Industry and the Swedish government not allow any mining in Gállok.

The letter highlights reasons such as that the Laponia World Heritage Site is threatened, that the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples is being violated, and that a possible mine means that people need to move.
