... but I probably remember when I was a child that summer day in the country.

My brother and I were to take us to a horse that was standing in a large paddock.

First we would crawl under the barbed wire and pass the bull pasture.

Once it was over, we were in - but where had the horse gone?

After a while of searching, we saw each other - the horse, me and my brother.

The horse galloped towards us.

My heart rate increased and I thought that my last moment had come.

But when it was almost right next to me, it stopped abruptly.

It must have felt alone and perhaps only longed for our company.

I survived the horror and I had now met a horse up close for the first time in my ten year life.

Fear is a central part of our lives.

We are controlled, driven or flee from it.

It can be vital, but it can also cause problems.

There are even those who live on our fears, everything from the horror filmmaker to the alarm company.

Have you thought about who wins because you are afraid?

Fear is normal - but can also be sick

In fact, four out of five diagnoses made at psychiatry in Västmanland have to do with different fears.

To go to a psychologist, some people think that only cuckoos do.

That stigma does not make things better for those who need help when a worry has grown a little too big for various reasons.

Because it can be solved, just as Alexander from Västerås did.

He took back his life after several years of isolation and without faith in the future.

That all fears would disappear completely is neither probable nor desirable.

But now I think we are tackling our fears.

It is certainly dangerous to live - you can die.

But just do not let any silly fear stop you from living!
