In his appeal, the legislator noted that cases of attacks by stray dogs on people have become more frequent in the country.

In recent weeks alone, several attacks have taken place in different regions of the country, information about which has been reported to the media.

Dogs roam the streets, yards and parks of settlements in packs, creating a real threat to the life and health of adults and children, who, due to their physical capabilities, are the most vulnerable and cannot defend themselves, the parliamentarian noted.

“In this regard, I ask you to consider the possibility of providing law enforcement officers, employees of municipal departments of housing and communal services with special means of ultrasonic, lighting devices or other devices of domestic production to scare away dogs, which they can quickly use in case of emergencies that pose a threat to the life and health of citizens ", the text of the appeal reads.

Earlier, an audit by the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia revealed the low efficiency of the work of executive authorities in solving the problem with stray dogs.

In addition, the department proposed to develop criteria for unmotivated aggression of stray dogs.
