China News Service, February 11. According to Cambodia's "Cambodia Daily", the Cambodian government has extended the tax-free policy for tourism-related agencies for another six months to promote and stimulate the rapid recovery of the tourism industry affected by the epidemic.

  According to the resolution jointly signed by Finance Minister Om Ben Monilo and Tourism Minister Tang Kun, all tourism in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, Kep, Kombu, Bavet and Popi Business operators, including hotels, inns and travel agencies, enjoy a further extension of the preferential period for exemption from various taxes (value-added tax, withholding tax, payroll tax and prepaid profit tax, etc.) until the end of June 2022.

  Tourism is one of the four pillars supporting Cambodia's economy, and the industry is expected to rebound in 2022 after a two-year slump due to the pandemic, according to Lightspeed Pila, director of the Statistics and Planning Division of the Ministry of Tourism.

  He said that as Cambodia has reopened its doors to allow vaccinated travelers to enter without quarantine, international tourists are expected to continue to pick up.
