Abu Dhabi Police looks to the future of policing at Expo 2020 Dubai

Abu Dhabi Police organized a remote training workshop at the Fazaa pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai entitled (Foresight the future in the police field) in conjunction with the activities of the UAE Innovation Month.

 The workshop focused on presenting a set of ideas on the importance of foresight and its link to innovation and the future directions of Abu Dhabi Police.

 Captain Ahmed Matar Al Shamsi, Head of the Future Foresight Department at Abu Dhabi Police, reviewed the Abu Dhabi Police methodology in studying future expectations and repercussions, and the efforts of the competent departments in developing innovative models for future services that are flexible and adjustable according to variables, in line with the strategies and priorities of the government at each stage.

He pointed out the difference between strategic foresight and strategic planning, explaining that strategic foresight is an introduction to the strategic planning process as it focuses on future directions and requires innovation and long-term planning for ten years, while strategic planning is an exit from the foresight process, and is based less on future directions and short planning The term is between 3-5 years.

The workshop comes within the framework of the activities of the Department of Ceremonies and Public Relations, in cooperation with the Department of Innovation and Future Foresight, and the Training Department of Abu Dhabi Police, within the UAE Innovation Month under the slogan “The UAE Innovates 2022.”
