The explanatory note to the bill states that "the amount of the pension is increased from January 1, 2022."

According to RIA Novosti, earlier the first deputy head of the State Duma Committee on Defense, Andrei Krasov, said that the committee would consider the bill as a priority when it enters the lower house of the Russian parliament.

Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced the readiness of a bill on the indexation of pensions for military pensioners by 8.6%.

In January, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to index the pensions of Russian servicemen by 8.6%.

According to the head of state, the initiative will affect 2.6 million people.
