“A diplomat should think twice before saying nothing,” Pushkov wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to him, he heard this saying from an unnamed British politician.

At the same time, Pushkov suggested that the head of the British Foreign Office "follows a completely different commandment."

The senator also said that Truss came to Moscow to "show complete ignorance of the subject" and "express her already boring claims."

Earlier media reported that Truss initially refused to recognize Russia's sovereignty over the Rostov and Voronezh regions during negotiations with Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.

Later, British Ambassador Deborah Bronnert intervened and explained to Truss that they were actually talking about Russian regions.

After that, Truss confirmed in an interview with RBC that she recognizes Russia's sovereignty over the Voronezh and Rostov regions.
