Today, Thursday, the State of Qatar expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attempt to target Abha airport in the Asir Governorate (southwest of Saudi Arabia).

In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered "targeting civilian and vital facilities an act of sabotage that contravenes all international norms and laws."

The ministry reiterated the "steadfast position of the State of Qatar rejecting violence and criminal and subversive acts, regardless of the motives and reasons."

The State of Qatar expresses its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attempt to target the airport in the city of Abha in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, considering the targeting of civilian facilities and vital facilities an act of sabotage that contravenes all international norms and laws.

And earlier, the Saudi official television reported - quoting the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen - that the coalition had intercepted and destroyed a bombed drone that targeted Abha airport, as well as its launch site in Saada Governorate (northern Yemen).

He also stated that the shrapnel of the drone fell in the inner perimeter of the airport, adding that 4 workers were slightly injured as a result of the interception of the booby-trapped drone, in addition to the shattering of some glass facades.
