The People's Power Nomination Management Committee first recommended Choi Jae-hyung, former Chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection, in Jongno, Seoul as a candidate to run for the by-election on March 9.



As a result of the election through a public opinion poll, it was decided to nominate former Seocho-gu mayor Jo Eun-hee in the upper part of Seocho, Seoul, and Jeong Woo-taek, former member of the National Assembly in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do.



In this election, 50% of party members and 50% of public opinion polls were reflected, and in the case of women and political newcomers, an additional 10% was given according to the party constitution and party rules.



Previously, the People's Power decided to nominate former lawmaker Kim Hak-yong in Anseong, Gyeonggi-do, and decided not to nominate Daegu Jung and Nam-gu, the constituency of former lawmaker Kwak Sang-do, who was arrested on suspicion of 'Daejang-dong'.
