According to the infection control doctor in the Gävleborg Region, Shah Jalal, Gävleborg still has a very high spread of infection with about 500 new cases per day and several people are cared for in hospital.
On Thursday, 31 people are treated with covid-19 at the hospitals in the county, of which four are on IVA.

Extra compensation for healthcare staff is extended
The situation in health care means that the region has decided to extend extra compensation for health care staff until 31 March.
The decision applies to permanent employees and monthly paid substitutes within the entire health and medical care administration.
Extra work shifts during weekdays give SEK 500 extra and during weekends the amount is SEK 750.
Ordinary compensation is not affected.
