In September, a match which was to be held at the brand new Ebimpé stadium in the suburbs of Abidjan, had to be played in Benin because the flagship of the Ivorian stadiums, which had cost the whopping 143 billion CFA francs, did not was ultimately not up to international standards.

The government extended 20 billion CFA francs, or 30 million euros, to correct this.
