Japanese films have not been nominated for the "Competition Category" this time, but director Ryusuke Hamaguchi, who has received international acclaim for "Drive My Car," will serve as a judge along with the other six.

Director Hamaguchi, who appeared on the red carpet prior to the opening, said, "I was added to a wonderful team of judges. The discussion has already started and it is exciting and I want to enjoy it to the end."



At the Berlin International Film Festival, more than 250 films from around the world will be screened until the 20th of this month, and the "Golden Bear Award" will be announced on the 16th.
