Former Korean short track speed skater Lim Hyo-jun (26, Chinese name Lin Xiaojun), a naturalized Chinese national, has strengthened his will to return to the international stage.

Today (10th) Lim Hyo-jun posted on the Chinese social media Xiaohongsu (小紅書), "Wait for me to come back! I will fight shoulder to shoulder with you!"

Along with this, she posted a picture of herself and her skate boots, taken against the Chinese sky.

Hyo-Jun Lim seems to have been conscious of this when former teammate Hwang Dae-Heon (23, Gangwon Provincial Government) won a gold medal at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

Hwang Dae-heon won the gold medal with overwhelming performance in the men's 1,500 m short track held at Capital Indoor Stadium in Beijing, China yesterday (9th).

Hyo-Jun Lim won a gold medal in the same event at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics four years ago.

However, in June 2019, Hwang Dae-heon took down his pants during training at the Jincheon Athlete's Village and was embroiled in a sexual harassment controversy, and received a one-year suspension from the athlete's qualifications by the Korea Skating Federation.

Hyo-Jun Lim was sentenced to a fine of 3 million won in the first trial on the charge of sexual assault, and was acquitted in the appeals court, but chose to become naturalized in China.

However, he did not participate in the Olympic Games held in Anbang, China.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) rules that three years must pass after the international competition in which the former nationality participated in order to change nationality and participate in the Olympics.

Hyo-Jun Lim competed at the International Skating Union (ISU) World Championships on March 10, 2019 as a Korean national representative, so he will be able to compete for China after March 10, 2022.

This is a 'news pick'.
