We do not hear Ms. Ribeiro’s expressions of concern about centrally inspired attempts to block banking services for RT DE and the opposition of the German government to the licensing of the TV channel in the states of the European Union,” Zakharova said.

She stated that the OSCE representative did not make a single attempt to act as an authoritative international mediator and encourage Berlin to find a constructive solution to the problem he created.

“Her statement about the retaliatory measures taken against the German state-owned media holding Deutsche Welle is a sudden informational outburst against the backdrop of generally sleepy reactions to the facts of gross violations of the rights of journalists in the Baltic states, Ukraine and in the so-called advanced democracies of the West,” Zakharova said. .

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry called on the OSCE Institute for Media Freedom to take the position of an honest broker and, within the framework of its mandate, make efforts to resolve the situation around the ban by the German authorities on the activities of RT DE and the ensuing forced response from the Russian side against Deutsche Welle.

On February 2, it became known that a document received by RT DE Productions in Berlin states that this company is responsible for broadcasting.

This means that no other European authority other than MABB can license the channel.

The regulator decided to stop broadcasting on the Eutelsat satellite, Smart TV, on the RT website and application, as well as on the Odyssey platform.

The head of RT DE Productions, Dinara Toktosunova, noted that the decision of the German regulator MABB will be appealed in court.

Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Botan-Kharchenko called the situation with the termination of RT DE broadcasting humiliating for Belgrade, which issued a license to the TV channel in full compliance with the European Convention on Television Broadcasting.
