This is stated on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“Recently, it was announced that the British government has submitted a document to Parliament that provides new grounds for bringing Russian legal entities and individuals under sanctions ... If implemented, such a step will cause another round of tension in bilateral relations,” the statement says.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also stressed that with such a step, the UK would undermine its own investment attractiveness.

Earlier, Russian Ambassador to London Andrey Kelin, in an interview with RIA Novosti, said that Moscow has something to answer if London imposes new sanctions.

As British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss announced in January, Britain has prepared "the toughest sanctions regime" for Russia in response to "aggression against Ukraine."

The new bill will allow freezing the assets of Russian companies in the UK.
