“There were positive signals that a solution in Ukraine can only be based on the implementation of the Minsk agreements ... But on the other hand, we did not hear any words from President Zelensky that they are ready to quickly get down to doing what something that should have been done by Kiev a long time ago,” a Kremlin spokesman said.

Peskov added that the picture will become clearer after the leaders of the states call.

So far, according to the Russian leader's press secretary, there are both positive and less encouraging signals.

Following the visit of French leader Emmanuel Macron to Kyiv, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced earlier that the French authorities intended to allocate €1.2 billion in financial support.

He also noted the importance of the partnership between Ukraine and France to combat current threats and challenges.
