The Sahlgrenska House is centrally located between the Gothenburg City Museum and the German Church and is a building that has undergone major changes since it was built in 1753.

How big do you think this find is?

- This is big because most roofs of this dignity are overpainted, says Boel Merlin, construction antiquarian at Higab.

The roof was discovered during an inspection of the house prior to an upcoming renovation.

The painting, which is well-preserved, was probably created by Reinhold Calllmander, one of the great artists in Gothenburg during the latter part of the 19th century.

The plan is now to restore parts of the interior to its former glory.

Walls will be given their original color scheme and the restoration of the ceiling painting is part of the extensive work where the Sahlgrenska house will be refurbished for future tenants.
