BlackRock holds 5.27% of the capital of Orpea after having notably acquired shares "off and on the market", according to a document sent to the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF).

The fund then becomes one of the main shareholders of the company.

Orpea has lost more than 60% of its stock market value since the start of the year, largely after the accusations relayed in the book "Les Fossoyeurs" by journalist Victor Castanet, which shed light on the practices in the group's establishments. .

The company commissioned two independent firms to "independently assess the allegations published" in the investigative book.

The French government has also launched two investigations.

BlackRock managed more than $10 trillion in total assets on behalf of institutional investors, pension funds or high net worth clients as of December 31, 2021, up 15% year-on-year.

On Monday, the investment fund Mirova, a subsidiary of Natixis, had announced its desire to remain in the capital while asking for changes, including the transition to a "mission company".

This had allowed the title to rebound a little on Tuesday on the Paris Stock Exchange, before a further drop on Wednesday: shortly after 4:30 p.m., the action fell by 6.60% to 32.69 euros, in a market up by 1.57 %.
