• 13-F Mañueco equates Luis Tudanca with Pedro Sánchez to wear down the PSOE in the 13-F campaign

  • Elections Pedro Sánchez wields the Government's achievements in the campaign and calls for mobilization to avoid the "bear hug" of the PP and Vox

A debate more similar to those of the

old normality

.

The second and last face-to-face between candidates for 13-F, held this Wednesday, finally brought together the three leaders of the Popular Party, PSOE and Ciudadanos in Castilla y León in the same space just 48 hours after the end of the campaign.

A meeting marked at this point in the race to the polls by the possible post-election scenario outlined by the average polls: the PP, the polls theorize, will need Vox to form a government at the regional level.

"They are going to have to agree with some gentlemen who do not believe in any of the things you are talking about," Francisco Igea stressed about the weight that Vox will have if it finally agrees with Alfonso Fernández Mañueco.

However, the

popular

leader did not respond at any time to what point he is willing to go to strengthen a regional government and if he has to include Juan García-Gallardo and his attorneys in the equation.

“I have asked for a clear mandate to govern without mortgages,” Mañueco shunned despite the fact that the Madrid president, Isabel Díaz Ayusó, opened the door this Tuesday to formalize a pact with Vox after the elections.

Faced with Mañueco's repeated dismissal, his political opponents pointed out that if he wants to preside over the Board again, he will have no choice but to sit down to negotiate.

In this sense, the Ciudadanos candidate raised his offer again: support a PP that presents another candidate other than Alfonso Fernández Mañueco.

"There is a person, not a party, that is excluded," said Francisco Igea, who advocates "leaving out" the "extremes" from the Executive and seeking a "focused and stable" government.

Surprisingly, the one who did not rule out the PP was Luis Tudanca.

The socialist candidate marked the red line of his policy of pacts in Vox, which opens the possibility that the socialists are willing to open a path of dialogue with the

popular

if they become the most voted force on 13-F.

"" I will dialogue with all those who want a change ", he said.

"Two models" at stake

According to Mañueco, on 13-F the Castilian-Leonese have to choose between "two models": "that of socialism that marginalizes Castilla y León with European funds and in the General State Budgets", or that of "a regional" Government " that lowers taxes and provides facilities for workers".

But he did not detail what forces he will rely on to revalidate that Executive.

Francisco Igea strongly attended the debate after expressing in the previous meeting, via telematics, his differences with his partner on the Board until a few weeks ago, the popular Alfonso Fernández Mañueco.

The

oranges

were "looking forward to the debate" after the confinement of their candidate for coronavirus to make him a "turning point" for the remainder of the campaign.

"I cannot be satisfied," admitted Igea to proudly confront the Mañueco defended his health and social management during the pandemic.

"We have the best social system in Spain," he argued.

"All the seams" of the system have been seen, Luis Tudanca reproached him in this regard.

change of strategy

Mañueco's tone, in line with that expressed by the popular in recent hours, changed significantly compared to the previous debate, in which he focused a good part of his interventions on comparing Luis Tudanca with Pedro Sánchez to wear down the socialist candidate.

This Wednesday, on the contrary, the leader of the Popular Party barely mentioned the President of the Government, as part of the change in strategy of the PP, whose speech has gone from the national level to a more local one after the latest polls predict that the Popular Party has lost strength in the final sprint of the campaign.

"He has forgotten Sánchez," Tudanca said ironically.

However, Mañueco made some specific reference to the chief executive: "Sánchez ignores this land" and the socialist candidate, he continued, allows it.
