The expert noted that one of these schemes is the distribution of malicious links.

According to Solovyov, fraudsters take the mobile phone numbers of their victims both from stolen databases and from sites with online ads.

“Then, SMS messages containing a malicious link are sent to the collected subscribers, upon clicking on which software is automatically installed on smartphones, with the help of which scammers gain access to the banking applications of phone owners,” the lawyer said.

Another variation of this scheme is the situation when scammers present themselves as employees of the State Services portal, the interlocutor of RT explained.

“Scammers offer to link a citizen’s QR code to a user’s page, after which they gain access to a personal account.

After that, attackers can, for example, use the victim’s data obtained on the portal to apply for loans,” he added.

In addition, as the lawyer emphasized, schemes involving “investment”, as well as staging “trouble with relatives”, are popular.

To implement the latter, scammers find older people who have children or grandchildren, the expert said.

In addition, gullible citizens can still fall for a scheme according to which an imaginary bank employee, police officer or investigator talks about "suspicious activity on the account," Solovyov warned.

He recalled that at the same time, people are offered to urgently transfer all funds to another account or take a loan, which will later be supposedly repaid by the bank.

“The only recipe for countering scammers is caution, restraint, scrupulousness and attentiveness, coupled with a willingness to critically analyze incoming information,” the RT interlocutor emphasized.

He added that it is "categorically impossible" to make quick and spontaneous decisions on the transfer of own funds and entering into credit legal relations.

The lawyer advised to double-check any incoming call, and also not to be shy to ask for advice from knowledgeable people and clarify any information.

Earlier, Solovyov, in an interview with RT, spoke about ways to protect money in case of loss or theft of a mobile phone.
