Aloy's expected return since mid-2020

Almost unexpectedly, the success of the first installment has developed a strong community.

From the presentation of the latest Sony console, players discovered that a new opus was in preparation.

In

Horizon Forbidden West

, the fiery-haired huntress will once again have to face terrible machines to free her territory.

On her way, she will come across characters in need of help.

Even more dangerous machines and new tribes

Players of the first Horizon still remember the nervous fights between the machines and Aloy.

In this new episode, the Snapmaws (a kind of mechanical crocodile) are joined by two other types of machines, one that can attack in the air and the other in the water.

During her journey, the red-haired warrior will come across several tribes with which she can interact.

Between the Carjas, the Oserams and the Utarus, Aloy will have to choose her allies and her enemies.

PlayStation has also posted a trailer presenting these different communities.

Revamped gameplay with additional actions

The strong point of the first game remained its intuitive and complete gameplay.

This way of playing is retained in

Horizon Forbidden West

, although some improvements and exclusives have been made.

For example, Aloy can now move more easily in height and on a climbing surface.

You find the weapons of

Horizon Zero Dawn

, like the hunter's bow or the explosive sling.

To these are added powerful weapons, such as the devastating spike launcher.

The fully open world can be explored in every corner, on the back of a mount for the most remote areas.

Expected performance on PS5

If

Horizon Forbidden West

already enchants old players, its development on PlayStation 5 is also eagerly awaited.

The developers are banking on the performance of the next gen console to provide unparalleled immersion.

Besides the 4K graphics, the features of the DualSense — the PS5 controller — are also welcome.

The haptic feedback of the triggers gives the impression of feeling the tension of the string when you shoot an archery.

If you have the right equipment (headphones, surround sound bar…), you will hear the grass under your feet or the approach of enemies behind your back.
