A man in his forties died Friday in Cergy (Val-d'Oise) in a traffic accident.

He was hit by a motorist driving a white truck who fled, reports

The facts occurred around 12 p.m., on the boulevard de l'Oise.

The victim, who would be homeless, was crossing the road when she was knocked down by the motorist, who was traveling in the direction of Cergy-Saint-Christophe.

Despite the intervention of the emergency services, the 40-year-old died at the scene of the accident.

Investigators are now looking for witnesses who could identify the driver of the truck or its owner.
