“Of course I support.

In such a situation in which I found myself, everything could have happened differently - my whole family could have died.

I believe that you can’t go to someone else’s house with a war,” Zobenkov said.

At the same time, he stated that investigators need to do a “good job” and find out all the circumstances, what were the relations, for example, neighbors before the conflict, how they lived before, and “everything must be properly qualified.”

“First of all, I think there should be a good trial of the case - clarification of all the circumstances and what led to the conflict,” he said.

Earlier, the Izvestia newspaper reported that State Duma deputies sent a bill to the Cabinet of Ministers for review, proposing to give citizens the right to protect their lives, relatives and friends by all means from attacks by persons illegally entering a house or apartment.

In May 2020, Zobenkov became a defendant in a criminal case on a triple murder.

The prosecution requested 18 years in prison for him.

The defendant stated that he was forced to use the knife in self-defense, protecting family and friends in the yard of his own house.

The court concluded that the man acted solely for the purpose of defense, and in September 2021 issued an acquittal.
