During the arrest hearings on Tuesday, both the couple and the prosecutor participated in a video link.
The protocol states that the suspected assault must have taken place in December and January at an unknown location in Kalmar.
The district court believes that there is a risk that the couple will remove evidence or otherwise complicate the investigation, and therefore they will be remanded in custody.
Denies crime
Earlier, the man's defense lawyer told SVT that the man denies the crime, which also emerged during today's arrest hearing.

The preliminary investigation is now continuing with, among other things, more questioning of witnesses and investigations of confiscated telephones and computers.
