"Hello, my mother, I am busy" .. a deputy responds to her mother during a parliamentary session (video)

In a first, MK Miri Regev turned on her mobile phone and answered a call from her mother, while she was on the podium during a Knesset session devoted to the Pegasus spyware case.

"Hello, Mama! I'm in the meeting now," Regev said on her phone in public.

It happened in a Knesset session that was broadcast live on his TV channel, and the entire country followed what was described as (the phone call) an exceptional episode in Israeli parliamentary history.

At that moment, the deputy speaker of the Knesset, Eitan Ginsberg, tried to interrupt her, but the Israeli MP continued her conversation with her mother, saying: “What do I want to eat on Saturday? Ask those who work at NSO (the company that owns the spyware).” They are aware of that."

Later, Miri Regev stated that what happened was a "charade" to illustrate the absurdity of the Israeli police wiretapping, and criticized the current government and demanded clarification of the matter.

In response to MK Regev’s statement, Knesset Speaker Eitan Ginsberg wrote on his Twitter account, “The MK may have tried to deliver an important message to the audience, but she committed a shameful act that is not worthy of this podium.”

He wrote, "As long as I remain the head of the meetings, no one will dare to mock the Knesset and belittle its prestige."
