Regarding the appearance of a woman wearing a hanbok in the performance of delivering the Chinese flag at the opening ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women's University said, "The part I was worried about has erupted again," and "Let's spread the truth more widely to the world."

The hanbok was caught on camera during the opening ceremony, when representatives from all walks of life and 56 nationalities participated in a performance called 'Delivering the Flag of Small Citizens' to deliver the Chinese flag.

A woman wearing a pink skirt that looks like a hanbok and a white jeogori, with her long hair braided into a single braid and decorated with a daenggi, delivered the five-star red flag.

Professor Seo pointed out on his social media account, "Even if it was introduced to represent the Korean ethnic minority in China, China has already carried out too many 'Hanbok Fair' until now."

Even though the Oxford English Dictionary listed 'hanbok' as Korea's traditional clothing, Professor Seo called it the 'Hanbok process' by comparing it to the 'Northeast Project' that is trying to steal our history. .

As an example of the hanbok process, Professor Seo said that in the promotional video 'Ice and Snow Dance', which was produced by China to commemorate the Beijing Winter Olympics bid, scenes of dancers in hanbok dancing and spinning their hats appeared, the largest portal site in China. In Baidu (百度) encyclopedia, "Hanbok originated from Hanfu," and so on.

Also, I have heard of cases where Chinese netizens made ridiculous distortions on social media saying, "Korea stole the hanbok," and even made unreasonable claims that even 'God' belonged to them.

Professor Seo said, "We should not only be angry, but we should spread the truth that 'Hanbok is Korea's traditional clothing' to the world more widely. We should use this as a good opportunity to introduce our traditional culture to people more widely.”
