“Perspective directions for the further development of multifaceted cooperation between Russia and the CAR were discussed, including expanding partnerships in trade, economic, investment and other areas of mutual interest,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

At the same time, the focus of Moscow and Bangui on strengthening coordination in the UN and other multilateral organizations was confirmed.

“They also touched upon issues related to the preparation of the second Russia-Africa summit, which is scheduled for 2022,” the ministry added.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Alexander Bikantov Ambassador to the Central African Republic.
