　　乐玉成指出，两国元首在会谈时还正式宣布启动中俄体育交流年。两国在北京冬奥会开幕同时启动以体育交流为主题的国家年，具有非同寻常的寓意。这已经是两国共同举办的第8个国家级主题年，将开创两国民心相通新境界。在体育交流年框架下，双方将举办550多项体育交流活动。可以预见，明后两年，体育将成为中俄民间交往中最活跃的元素，体育精神将成为中俄关系持续健康发展最鲜明的象征。
