“The investigation found that a single explosive device claimed the lives of at least 170 Afghan citizens and 13 US military personnel,” McKenzie said in a statement.

It is clarified that no evidence was found that anyone was injured or killed as a result of the use of firearms.

According to him, the explosive device was stuffed with metal bearings, from which body armor and helmets of the military could not protect.

In August last year, explosions near the airport in the Afghan capital, Kabul, killed about 200 civilians.
