The Student Fair opened its doors on Friday in Paris.

For two days, thousands of high school students, registered on the Parcoursup platform, will be able to find out about higher education to decide on their wishes.

But in recent years, a path of orientation attracts, that of learning.

At the Porte de Versailles exhibition center, thousands of high school students will stroll between the stands of the Student Fair between Friday and Sunday.

A sector promises to refuel, that of learning.

More than 700,000 contracts were signed last year.

It is no longer just the BTS, bac pro, or CAP who have recourse to it, engineering and business schools are entering the dance.

A valued sector

It is a sector that is increasingly valued on the job market.

The commerce sector is the one that has recruited the most apprentices in 2021. Many schools offer contracts, some from the first year of study, such as the one of which Erwan Poiraud is director: "When we were talking about apprentices, we spoke of bakers, butchers, it's been a good ten years that in higher education, there is learning and that it works very well", he maintains.

"It will become more and more selective sectors because paying today for training at more than 10,000 euros when they can be supported by companies and above all, also remunerating the young person, it is becoming a sector of excellence", he notes.

The experience rather than the reputation of the school

Kevin Boulard, 25 years old and business engineer, comes from this school.

He combined five years of education and experience at two different companies to land a senior executive position, without spending a dime on tuition.

"When I was recruited, the name of the school matters less, what we look at is really the experience and what we were able to bring to the company", he slips.

IUT, BTS, but also the universities, the grandes écoles, in the end almost all the sectors start learning, that is to say a third of the training available on Parcoursup.
