In the municipality of Wizernes, a strident noise, of unknown origin, disturbs the inhabitants at all hours of the day and night.

A priori, 5G antennas are out of the question.

The inhabitants, exasperated by the noise, which can last 30 seconds or 30 minutes, are calling for an investigation to determine its origin.

In Wizernes (Pas-de-Calais), a mysterious strident noise resounds regularly, day and night, at any time.

Problem: nobody knows where this strange noise comes from, which tenses the inhabitants.

Europe 1, who went there, perceived as soon as he arrived this shrill noise which attacks the ears of Mauricette and her neighbors several times a day: “It started maybe five or ten minutes ago. We don't know how long it will last."

When she talks to us, the noise fades away.

"It flies away. There it is, it's over. But it's going to start again."

“We have the impression that the noise revolves around us”

This whistle, Mauricette has recorded it many times since November.

"We don't really know which side the noise is coming from. We can think that it is coming from that side and when we are outside, we have the impression that the noise is revolving around us", he explains. -she.

It is very difficult to get used to this noise, even when the windows are closed.

"It can last thirty seconds, it can last half an hour. It's day, night: all the time in fact. It gets on the nerves."

Another resident even had to stop doing her children's homework when the noise started.

"Even in the morning, we are barely awake, we can already hear the noise. Even when the noise stops, we have the impression that it is still there", she laments.

The 5G antenna, installed not far from there, seems a priori out of the question, as do the businesses in the neighborhood.

"We thought about high voltage wires, but that's not it either. We're really looking for where it comes from."

The inhabitants are waiting for a serious investigation to determine where this noise pollution comes from to finally be rid of it.
