Exposing a murder that took place 19 years ago in Iraq

The police of Dhi Qar province, southern Iraq, were able to uncover a murder that took place in 2003 in the province.

The police said that "in implementation of the directives of the commander of Sumer operations and the police of Dhi Qar Governorate, and through the investigation of one of the accused, the Hassan Mujtaba Police Department was able to uncover a murder that occurred in 2003."

She added that "the accused (M. H. A.), 46, who was arrested by the intelligence and counter-terrorism forces in the Suq al-Shuyukh district on a threatening case, confessed to a murder within the Suq al-Shuyukh police station in the governorate."

The police indicated that "the accused was arrested on the basis of Article 406 of the Iraqi Penal Code, and was duly referred to the requesting party."
